hey...
What's goin' on? Video shoot Wednesday, photo shite on Thursday. Thanks for reading these (if you have been), and we'll hopefully see you live soon. The new TTP site is underway (thank DOG), and should come complete with updates from not only your humble servant but the other 2 fellows in front of the drummer. I'll always be open to anything Marco throws at me (like suggestions such as this), and I truly appreciate what he, his staff, The River site, Anthony's site, and any of the others have provided; again to you all, thank you x 100000.. JB

There we are...
The grape vine has it that the 1st single will be released mid-July, and the album by mid- August. That is what I've heard but as we all know, NOTHING is etched in stone, right? On a sad note, my long time drum tech and friend Paul has left his post with the band to pursue his own music career and blossoming love interrest in Australia, best of luck buddy. Similarly, Trevor who is the longest running tech for the band, having been Martin's slave since '95 has moved over to the dark side (Norah Jones), to fulfill his lifelong dream of falling asleep whilst working side stage! We will miss them dearly but they've made the transition with other fellows quite easy on us... Again 3 cheers for our dear brothers, fabulous techs and the new paths they have chosen. I'll confirm everything when everything thing is 100%. Bye for now, J.

my E-Bay auction...
begins May 20th. I'll somehow get a link out to this, or perhaps if someone sees the auction they could post it (thanks). The band is considering taking it's first vacation as a band together ever. It'll be nice to hang out and NOT do TTP for a change... I hear Miami is nice. Any way I'll keep you posted. Randy Staub has offered to mix the 3 B.Rock tracks, and we're taking him up on it; should sound Phat. Bye for now, J.

No release date...
as of yet. Don't believe everything you read in print. Someone in Buffalo commented about our "delay", and it's funny really because we go through this "unknowingness" all the time, (with every album in fact) but now that people are privy to "updates" they want to know NOW !!! People, if you happen to run into me or my band mates, do me a favour, don't bother us with the release date, WE DON'T KNOW, we, more than you want this out. All due respect, J.

A big heart felt thanks...
to Mel in Calgary from the people @ T2B. Mel apparently auctioned off her TTP catalogue, etc, to help this fine Cancer charity. I'd like to take advantage of this "auction post" to let you know I'll be starting another ebay auction for T2B next week. The items range from signed Nickleback c.d.'s to a rare Norah Jones signed LP album, to an authentic Geddy Lee signed bass guitar (personalized to the winning bidder). From the Tea Party side of things I've donated the 1 pair of sticks used to record 3 songs @ A&M Studios for EOT, (Sister Awake, Correspondences, and Silence). Sorry I'm whoreing this space but I really enjoy helping whenever I can. Always your humble servant, J.

Release date....
Regarding the release date; a friend of mine asked an employee of a "reputable" record chain, who stated the album is out in late May. If you're wondering; this is completely FALSE. Absolutely NO date has been discussed as of yet. There's still photo shoots, a video, lots of pre-empting press, rehearsals, cover art, mastering, etc., etc., etc., to be completed. But I can guarantee it rocks! Well, I'm going to go listen to my huge assortment of demo material, and rough mixed versions of the record now... Hehehehe. J.

Hello....

Jeff Martin...
is currently in the air on his way to Vancouver. Randy Staub will be mixing the 8 or 9 songs at Warehouse Studios. Bob Rock is re-approaching the 3 songs he mixed to capture what JM calls the "TERROR" found in the original Rock roughs. The next step once the mixing is complete, and everyone is happy, is the mastering which generally happens in N.Y. or on the east coast of the U.S. There is absolutely NO release date set as of yet, don't shoot the Messenger. Peace and Love, J.

Sam, 10.04.2004 02:08
Hello,
Jeff Martin and Gavin Brown will be heading to Vancouver to oversee the final mixes to be completed by Mr. Randy Staub. This is all quite exciting for us all. Many, many months (years) went into this, and it's time to get rockin' da fuckin' road, please and thank you... No release date as of yet, which I know can be somewhat frustrating, put yourself in these shoes. Many summer dates are being confirmed at the moment, I'll update that once it's 100%. Bye for now, J. P.S. Jeff Martin got a new pair of leathers ;)...

Unfortunately....
EMI doesn't plan on releasing the current album. This puts the bands existence in jeopardy. Sorry for this news, but apparently we're getting "too old". I'll keep you posted. J.

Die, 30.03.2004 17:32
Salut...
Waiting on a mixer for the record, which means everything is recorded. We haven't presented it to EMI yet, that'll apparently happen next week, post Juno weekend. The last we heard is a mid., to late May release, but as usual nothing is in stone. We met some cool people recently in Sask., which made the trip worth while. Saskatchewan twice in a 6 month time frame!...(W.T.F?);)... Stuart has made contact with another amazing artist out of NYC, he is of entirely different art background than that of the previous record; very dark, very, different from what you may expect. Not much else to report other than, I love you all, so very, very much!, especially those of you in the upper balcony, "hello up there!..." , Your ever-loving, humble, Batteur-servant, J.

Sunday, 14.03.2004 17:38
Hello...
All is well in TTP land. The boys and I were at a friend's wedding last night in Windsor, very nice. We're starting up again tomorrow, with hopes of completion by Friday. Things aren't going slow, just not as quick as I'd (or Chats) would like. Martin is singing like a demon, but his nocturnal lifestyle is killing me (who is never up later than 8:00am regardless of bedtime!). We're "presenting" the album to EMI on Thursday, for our obligatory, congratulatory "pat on the back", I truly believe they'll be impressed like never before, and much to some people's disbelief, we do value some of their opinions.;) I honestly made an effort to speak to Willa last week, but she didn't pick up (hehe), so I'll try that again, and see if she wants to ignore me once more. Well, I hate typing, plus I SUCK at it so... bye. Le Hard of da Hearing batteur, Jeff.

Sam, 06.03.2004 20:55
Hey,all...
Back home for a couple days to catch up on things. The sessions are moving well. All instrumentation is finished, and beginning Monday JM will finish some vocals that we were unable to complete. The question of release date seems to be the most asked question when I'm caught lurking the clubs on Queen. The record will be done, mixed and mastered soon but, will only be released once proper "set up" is done by the record co. I'll get Willa's phone # and maybe do a little Q and A, if she's up to it some time next week. I've also got some pics I've promised to get online. Sorry this is brief but I'm only home for 48 hours. Le batteur, JB. P.s. yes this rocks.

Fri, 13.02.2004 17:16
Well,...
The drums are completed. It's much heavier than I was anticipating, which is good, very good. We're working with a young man named Gavin Brown (do your own homework), and it's a spirited, enthusiastic experience. We begin again on Monday with Marc Oullette, coming in from Montreal to orchestrate string sections on 2 or 3 of the songs, then guitars, vocals, bass, and percussion. Everything, not including mixing and mastering will be done by early March. Maybe, I can work out some kind of interview from the studio in the next couple weeks. Bye for now and happy V.D. Le Batteur.

Thursday, 29.01.2004 15:49
Alright then.... We have a schedule. It's amazing to me how some people can wipe their own ass in the morning. NO HAWAII, dont care. New studio in T.O. will do just fine. Now hopefully the brASS will stay off ours. I'll let you know release dates when they're firm, could be sooner than later. J.

I think I'm quitting this stupid fucking game and moving to Alberta to work at a 7 Eleven.

Happy New Year!
Have a wonderful, safe, and happy evening everyone. The band's is a quiet one, (I actually miss those guys!) but we're anxious for an exciting New Year. Give thanks to your gods, and dwell on the positive aspects of your life, cause "babay, life's what you make it..." L'homme qui fait la batterie, Jeff.

Conquering new territory...
Once again ttp.de had the opportunity to talk to Jeff Burrows about things like how it is to play in a refrigerator, a two bottles of white wine voice and of course the upcoming studio album.

Read the complete interview here!

Hello...
We're once again helping our good friend Jacques Villeneuve with his Mt. Tremblant Charity Fundraising Weekend of skiing, drinking, performing, drinking, and a little more drinking and performing. This is not to be confused with a TTP concert. We shall be performing, but it'll be more jamming and goofin' off than anything. The charity is for Children's Oncological Research, and should raise significant funds for an obviously worthy cause. Last year we actually annouced we'd be jamming at one of the local pubs and charged an admission that further went towards the cause, (look for something like this to happen again, wink, wink!). Anyway, fuck, I dunno, talk later, or see some (or none) of you there. J. le batteur

A personal thanks...
I'd like to personally thank the people at the "River of the Interzone" web site for contacting T2B here in Windsor Ontario, and making donations on my behalf. You are all very generous and kind, and thanks aren't enough regarding your support. It's hard to put into words how much I admire people who selflessly give to others, and like I've previously mentioned, I too am trying to be a "better" human becoming, and random acts such as this only encourages me to press on in a positive frame of light. Thanks again, le batteur. J.

Hello everyone...
As many of you know, we've had a difficult week. Steve will always be a major player in this band, and his strength and courage has done nothing but magnify our desire towards self- improvement, both as a band and personally. We're marching on to make the best fucking record we can, since that is all we can do, both for Steve and ourselves. I'm happy to say that I've finally sent the Vancouver show to both Anthony and Marco respectively. Thank you for your patience, and sorry for the wait. Jeff.

Interview with Jeff Burrows
Recording an album keeps a man busy. That's why the latest diary entry comes up in form of an interview Willa Slater did with Jeff Burrows last Tuesday by phone! You can read the complete interview here!

Wed, 15.10.2003 22:40
Yes, as you already know, I'm an ASS!
I didn't know how to get here while in Maui. But I can say, HOLY SHIT!!!! It's good to be in a ROCK (not Bob Rock) band again. Hey Marco, e-mail your phone #, and perhaps you can get some questions together and then post the answers here. Sound good? It'll be much easier than me trying to type out, because I'm very busy with a charity auction, and a T.V. pilot I'm presenting soon. Ciao, le batteur.

Well it’s time for another Tea Party record....
Well it’s time for another Tea Party record, number seven in fact. This time around we thought we’d mix things up a little. To start with, we’re halfway around the world in Maui, Hawaii enjoying surf, sand and sun (Sorry, but photos of Jeff Martin in Bermuda shorts and a Hawaiian shirt will not be forwarded at the present moment). The locals are aware there is a rock band in their presence. I guess the leather pants on the beach sort of give it away. Our tours of Australia always start with a 90-minute layover tease in Hawaii, so it’s nice to finally get out of the airport and enjoy some of the scenery. Our days are spent surfing in the morning, and hitting the studio at noon until the wee hours of the morn. Contrary to popular belief, Jeff doesn’t turn to dust in broad daylight.

For the first time in four records we’ve decided to work with an outside producer. The band has so many new ideas, it was time to get someone else to sort through the good, the bad and the just plain old boring. We’ve always kept a short list in our minds of people we’d like to work with. Bob Rock has been on that list for some time now. When we decided we wanted to capture on record the best parts of our live concerts, we realized we needed somebody that knew how to rawk. Our main concern going into this was how Jeff Martin would work with outside help because in the past Jeff has been the one in charge in the studio, but the recipe couldn’t be better. Jeff has in Bob a great guitarist and musician to bounce ideas off of. Bob has an encyclopedic knowledge of guitars and amps. As for his guitar collection, it’s like visiting the annual Texas guitar show. All makes and models are well represented.

We’ve been here in the studio for about four days now and things are looking up. The sound of the band has grown to about 50ft and 2000lbs. The tide around the island is being affected by what is happening on the studio floor and tsunamis are heading towards the mainland. Bob seems to have had the effect of a lens on a camera. All of our loose ideas from over the years are being focused and congealed into this one sound, and it’s heavy. Not heavy like Metallica, but heavy like "Fire In The Head" off of the Edges Of Twilight album. In the past, The Tea Party has had a reputation for ever so slightly over-producing some of our tracks. Those days are now over. The songs are now being distilled into their purest form with no extraneous indulgences.

That’s all for now. Tune in next time for tales of near death experiences on the road to Hana. By the way, in case you were wondering, Rock is Bob’s real last name.

Sorry for the wait...
Our hard drive, which contains the live music is currently innoperable, but Stuart assures me we can get these off from Hawaii. This type of thing always seems to happen, but such is the way, right? Bye for now, Le Batteur, J.

Tuesday, 16.09.2003 15:25
Bad enough...
It's bad enough I had to fly to Hawaii the morning after I throw my brother-in-law's stag; now I get to fly to Calgary to do a rock show, THEN fly to Hawaii!!! YEEEE HAAAWWW!!!! Calgary, Sept. 27th, Mac Hall. (I'm NOT complaining, I love my job) Le Batteur, J.

Saturday, 13.09.2003 16:28
Greetings...
Okay, we now have 2 shows recorded on mini-disks in our hands. Our sound man Stoy, has passed them on to Stuart. I had a chance to listen to a bit of the Vancouver show on the big flying tube, and honestly, I think it sounds pretty good. I can at least guarantee it'll sound better than a bootleg from the audience... Stuart is shipping me copies on Monday and I'll be Fed-exing Marco and Anthony 1 copy of the Montreal and Vancouver shows each. They can "release" 1 song at a time or the entire program, it's up to them. I'll do this as quickly as possible, thanks for your patience and it was nice seeing some familiar faces lately. We begin with the infamous Bob Rock on the 29th of this month. Once in the studio, I'll use Chats' laptop to occasionally input the legal goings'on in the studio. Bye, and thank you graciously for your ongoing support. Le Batteur, J.

Saturday, 30.08.2003 18:15
Salut mes amis...
I've just returned home from a pleasant visit with family out west. The band is going back there in a few days for a couple shows. The Vancouver show will be a la Montreal with the added accoustic stuff, and I'll have our soundman record this too, as I did in Montreal for your listening pleasure. I'm having him (Stoy) dub these down to cds and I'd like to ship them off to Anthony, Marco, Sarah, and D., to make available for downloading. I've only spoken to Sarah and D, so I'll need to first speak with Anthony and Marco before any "shipments" are made. The Canadian producer Bob Rock will be assisting Mr. Martin with the first 3 or 4 singles to hopefully help us attain the world dominance we soooo desire. "I'm bitchin' cause I'm itchin'". ..... Oh, and I reeled in this 25lb Chinook salmon off the coast of Tofino while fishing with my boys, now THAT is better than Sarstock! ;^) Jeff.

Fre, 08.08.2003 05:01
woah...
That sounded a little harsh at the end! Sorry about that. Grumpy fucking bastard,... see what happens when your life gets put on hold? I'm going to B.C for a vacation while Larry, Curly and Moe (the record co.) determine our future. Ugh..J.

Don, 07.08.2003 16:13
management tells me...
rumours have been flying around a statement I had mede to a young fan backstage. I did state that the band was hoping to have Bob Rock produce the initial 3 or 4 singles. The band has already written the music, the musical/lyrical content of the songs will not be altered. The producers job (in this case) would be to help the band achieve sounds that we're looking for, (not Metallica sounds, BonJovi sounds, or Cult sounds for that matter!), but enhanced TTP sounds. We've never looked for "justification" or approval in anything we do, for if we had the bands life would have been over years ago. It's a shame I share too much information with perhaps the wrong people, who we graciously allow to come backstage after a hot fucking show. Lesson learned, I guess. I still don't know 100% when AND if we're heading to Maui. Yawn.... JB

HMMMM...
Hmmm, I'm waiting... Exciting, this rock band stuff, huh?;) J.

Friday, 11.07.2003 13:55
Things are looking interesting.
I'd love to share this news now, but you'll have to get used to the fact that I share nothing until it's 100%. We could be in the studio as early as the day after the Buffalo show (on the plane at least), to begin recording, first, the potential "singles", then moving on to the album tracks at perhaps, another location. Just so you understand, potential "singles" are recorded first so that they may be "shopped" in places such as the U.S., where we actually (finally) have some serious interest from a few significant labels. Sorry for being so vague but like I said... I'll check in once I know more. Thank you for listening. Turn off your computers. Jeff ;)

Greetings all
Hello everyone, JB here. Marco ever so politely made this forum open to me to translate any news regarding the touring/recording process,(of which the recording will soon be embarked upon!). Currently we have no scheduled studio time but, today we have a meeting with all those necessary at the label to determine the best avenue to take. All will be discussed regarding engineer/producers, mixers, Studio times, potential release dates for singles and album, etc. I'll return in the next day or two and let you know the results. Thanks for your patience, forgive any spelling or grammatical errors, and I promise the wait will be worth it. Jeff
